DOVA
DOVA is the Dutch association of regional public transport authorities, coordinating sector-wide themes such as data, passenger information and governance.
Since 2013, ICT InTraffic has partnered with DOVA to design, build and manage integration and distribution solutions that simplify complex data chains, improve data quality and accelerate innovation into daily operations.
The challenge
- Travellers need confidence and control throughout the journey.
- Operators need efficient, predictable operations.
- Authorities and market parties need trusted, reusable and standardised data.
- Display and app providers need stable, consistent information flows.
How it works
We manage the full chain: from source data intake and validation to standardisation, distribution while continuous monitoring the performance and availability.
This enables national open data access, journey planning applications and stop display systems to rely on one highly available and consistent information stream.
Our role
ICT InTraffic supports DOVA as chain orchestrator by delivering the technology and operational expertise behind reliable passenger information.
- Designing, building and operating central chain platforms
- Implementing end-to-end data flows from operator to end user
- Providing monitoring, KPI steering and data quality tooling
- Safeguarding availability, performance and continuity
On standardisation and architecture, we make complexity workable across the entire ecosystem.
- Implementing standards in systems, interfaces and data platforms
- Designing chain architecture and interfaces between parties
- Ensuring uniform, interoperable processing across data sources
- Supporting migration and change when standards evolve
We modernise the passenger information landscape while operations continue—combining proven standards with new technology in a controlled, future-ready way.
ICT InTraffic turns governance and standardisation into working systems and robust data chains that make end-to-end passenger information reliable, scalable and future-proof.
Impact
Public transport authorities gain direct control over the quality and performance of the passenger information chain. Operators benefit from stable and uniform data processing without added operational complexity. Market parties and app providers receive reliable, scalable access to trusted data, while display suppliers can depend on timely and consistent information. The result for travellers: one coherent, up-to-date and dependable view of the public transport network.
Standards used
BISON, NeTEx, SIRI. EPIP, GTFS and other sector standards.
